Service Description
This 10-week curriculum for elementary students is designed to enhance emotional awareness, understanding, and resilience. Week 1: Emotional Hygiene - Students learn to recognize and express emotions healthily, laying the foundation for emotional health. Week 2: Understanding Anger - Focuses on recognizing anger, its triggers, and managing it through role-play and discussion. Week 3: Unmet Expectations - Explores the feelings of frustration from unmet expectations and coping strategies. Week 4: Blocked Intentions - Students discuss how obstacles affect emotions and develop resilience and problem-solving skills. Week 5: Understanding Shame - Examines shame and its effects on behavior, including withdrawal and self-attack, while promoting empathy and self-compassion. Week 6: The Cycle of Emotions - Teaches the connections between emotions and how to navigate them through an "Emotion Cycle Wheel." Week 7: The Importance of Communication - Encourages effective communication and active listening to express feelings and strengthen relationships. Week 8: Building Empathy - Enhances understanding of others' emotions through perspective-taking activities. Week 9: Proactive Emotional Strategies - Students create an "Emotional Toolbox" to proactively manage their feelings and prevent negativity. Week 10: Reflection and Application - Students reflect on their emotional journey and collaborate on a project highlighting their insights and strategies for continued emotional health. The curriculum fosters proactive emotional management, equipping students with skills for lifelong resilience and well-being.
